Travel Alerts & Advisories

What is active right now — and how it expires

In short

Across this site, any active advisory shows in a small banner near the top of the page. Each advisory carries a start and end date, and the banner only appears while today falls inside that window — once a notice passes its end date it disappears on its own. Two advisories are active now: the modest dress code (no end date) and the 2026 monsoon caution (June–September). Always verify time-sensitive details before you travel.

How the alert banner works

The banner reads from a short list of advisories. For each one we set a valid-from and a valid-until date and a severity label. An advisory is displayed only when the current date is on or after its start and on or before its end. Notices without an end date stay visible until they are removed by hand. Because the window is checked every time the page loads, expired notices are never shown — there is no need to clear them manually, and a stale safety or closure notice will not linger.

The advisories below mirror what the banner is showing today. For the reasoning behind each one, see News & Notices.

Active advisories

Dress code in effect

Modest or traditional attire is required for darshan. The advisory has no end date and stays active until the policy changes. See the visitor guidelines for what to wear.

Severity: info · Valid from: 2025-07-07 · Valid until: open-ended. Policies can change — verify before visiting.

Monsoon caution

The steps can be slippery and the area sees heavy rain through the monsoon. Check local advisories before you travel and read our best time to visit guidance. This advisory expires automatically at the end of September 2026.

Severity: weather · Valid from: 2026-06-01 · Valid until: 2026-09-30. Re-check Pune district advisories close to your travel date.

Archived / expired notices

There is no archive to browse. When an advisory passes its end date it is dropped from the active list automatically and no longer appears in the banner or on this page. We deliberately do not keep expired safety or closure notices live, so you never act on an out-of-date warning. We also do not publish government order numbers we cannot independently confirm — where an official order applies, please check the issuing authority directly.
