What we do, and don't do, with your data

In short

This is an informational, static website. It does not ask you to sign in, fill in forms or make payments. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful (aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics). We do not sell or share personal data, we run no advertising, and we keep data handling to the minimum needed to serve and improve the pages.

What this website is

This site exists to share verified visitor information about Ekvira Devi Temple at Karla and the neighbouring Karla Caves. It is a collection of static pages. There are no user accounts, no login, no shopping cart and no donation or payment processing on this site.

Data we handle

Because the site is static and informational, we collect very little:

  • Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics to see aggregated, non-identifying usage — such as which pages are visited, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and how visitors arrive. Google sets its own cookies for this. We use it only to improve the site; we do not attempt to identify individuals, and we run no advertising or behavioural ad tracking. You can opt out (see below).
  • Basic server logs. Like almost any website, the hosting service that delivers these pages may automatically record standard technical details — such as your approximate IP address, browser type and the page requested — for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to build profiles of individuals.
  • Embedded third-party content. Some pages load content from other companies, for example the Google Maps embed on the contact page and the web fonts the site uses. When your browser loads that content, those providers may receive your IP address and apply their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • We do not run advertising networks or behavioural ad tracking on this site.
  • We do not ask for personal details through forms on this site.

The analytics we use, and how to opt out

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google's measurement tool) to understand which pages are useful and how the site performs. It records aggregated usage data and sets Google cookies; Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, by blocking cookies in your browser, or by using a tracker-blocking extension — all of the information on the site remains fully accessible either way.

Children

This is a general information site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Contact about privacy

If you have a question about privacy or want to raise a concern, please get in touch through the Report a Correction page, which explains how to reach the Trust's official channels. An official email is not yet confirmed, so the social channels listed there are the most reliable route for now.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Any change will be reflected here, so this page always describes our current practice.

This is a plain-language summary of how an informational static site handles data; it is not legal advice. The specifics of server logging depend on the hosting provider in use.
